Responsibility:
The trait of being answerable to someone for something or being responsible for one's conduct.

Resolution:
The act of separating a compound into its elements or component parts.

Occasionally, I listen to the news. When I do, I am often struck with how folks blame others for the situations that we are in now as a country. Very rarely have I heard an individual take responsibility for decisions they made that may have contributed to a crisis that they are facing. It’s always someone else’s fault. The individual or individuals involved were merely victims of circumstance. It’s no wonder we haven’t come to a place of reconciliation because everyone is blaming each other. So, how do we come to a place where people begin to take personal responsibility? I feel that it is through resolving issues, being accountable and facing the truth, which ultimately creates deep healing resulting in inner peace.

I have had the opportunity to be trained in a variety of healing techniques that go beyond talk therapy and straight to the issue(s). What I have found is that when an individual, family, group or organization faces the truth of the situation that they are in, and can consent to what is, resolution can occur. Resolution is when there is an acknowledgement of something that may have caused harm in a system; be it a family, group or organization. It means facing the truth of something that may have been hidden away yet continues to create discord or dishonesty with those involved. It takes courage to face the truth, yet there is tremendous freedom in acknowledging the reality of what happened. It is through this acknowledgment that resolution can occur which leads to deep healing and a sense of well-being.

Here is an example of taking responsibility and creating resolution. Throughout my years as a facilitator, I have found that within every family are stories. Within these stories are hidden truths of what has happened within the family. These hidden truths or injustices often get buried within the well-kept shadows of a family yet there is an invisible element that keeps the hidden truths alive. Though not talked about, these hidden truths / injustices will imbed themselves into someone within the family who is the carrier of these and will protect it with their life. Protecting a hidden truth may show up in the form of an addiction, illness, disease, chronic pain, anger, suicide or depression. Therefore, it is imperative for the health and well-being of a family system to honor and acknowledge the one or ones who have taken the burden of the hidden truth as their own, so that the burden can be put down and love can flow through. For where there is a hidden truth, love cannot flow. This approach reveals hidden dynamics that block the flow of love and life.

There have been many examples lately in the news that have been revealing hidden truths that show up as corruption and deception. The results have been devastating to those who were the innocent victims of these hidden truths or injustices. It is fascinating to note that until there is resolution, history will continue to repeat itself.

Within the United States and globally, many folks are getting busted for the hidden truths or injustices that they have continued to perpetuate over the years. The scandalous activities of CEO’s and affluent partners within well-known companies are being brought to justice. Consequences of their illegal behavior, is resulting in jail time and high financial penalties. Although how many of these folks turned themselves in and took responsibility for their part? Not many. Which is sad. Until individuals start taking responsibility for their part and begin resolving the issues at hand, we will not have peace.

Because of this, I have devoted my life to working with individuals, families, groups and organizations to help educate and begin the possibility of exploring the hidden truths or injustices that many have carried throughout their lifetime. The results and testimonials that I have received from folks who have worked with me have been astounding. Many have come to realize that though they may not have liked the circumstances in their life or the way that they were raised, that if they could consent to the truth of their life, then they could come to a place of resolution. Within this resolution deep healing was able to occur which led to forgiveness, compassion, loving kindness, less judgment, and ultimately inner peace. By doing their part, they are helping to heal this planet one person at a time. Time is of the essence. With that in mind, perhaps it is your time to put down your emotional sword and begin creating resolution within your own life. Please join me on this journey.

With a Grateful and Very Full Heart, Catherine
